Siglufjörður

Touched down in Siglufjörður last week! I had never made a proper stop over there before. It’s such a different vibe from the South of Iceland where most of the tourist attractions are, because it’s so much more like traditional old Iceland. I definitely recommend visiting Siglufjörður when you’re in Icealnd, so here is my guide for where to stay, what to see, and where to go while you’re there! It’s a 5 hour drive from Reykjavík, so I kept comfy but chic in a KTZ outfit.

I stayed at Hótel Sigló, a relatively new hotel by the harbour. Amazing large rooms, mine was just on the water so I had amazing views.

As a lover of all spa related "activities" I loved their spa area in the harbour itself, zoning out in the hot pool surrounded my mountains listening to the sound of the sea.

The town itself is super charming, you can feel how powerful the mountains are that surround the town. It has an interesting history as the town grew up around the herring industry that was in much bloom in the 1940s and 1950s, but the herring are gone now.  Visit the Herring Museum for a glimpse back in time.

On our way back we stopped at the Infinity pool at Hofsós, my absolutely favorite pool in Iceland, it´s a must if you are in the area.
