Our wedding

In my career as an artist, perfumer and business owner, every detail is thought out to the maximum, so when it came to my wedding I wanted to do the complete opposite, just wing it…Thankfully my partner was very much on the same page. We have pretty much been inseparable since we met 12 years ago, we moved in together a week after we met, started a business and built it up together, we have also been through all the ups and down of a marriage already, in our personal life and business so we just wanted to do something we wanted to do. To be honest we had not really been on a holiday since we first met and went on a romantic trip to Rome, don´t get me wrong we have travelled extensively and lived in different countries since we met but always for business. Being from Iceland so many people come here to get married in the amazing landscapes, so as an Icelander where would I go!! I always wanted to go to Mexico so Cabo was the perfect choice for us. I asked around for recommendations and everyone always suggested the same spot The Cape, a fairly new resort hotel, so we booked a villa and took a leap of faith..:-) And boy were we not disappointed, besides being such a stylish and beautiful resort where every detail is thought out, the staff really did treat us like royalties. It just felt super cozy and homy, and made the whole experience so relaxing and nice in every way, from the amazing food (the breakfast is one of the best I have every had), to the infinity pools, relaxing listening to the sounds of the waves was just the wedding honeymoon bliss we were looking for. As for my wedding look, I just grabbed a white shirt from Nicolas Andrea Taralis I bought years ago in Milan and have always loved, a pair of my favorite Balenciaga silver heels and on our way to the airport I stopped at a random weeding shop to buy a vail, which I actually love and would wear again..:-) For such a beauty junky as myself I decided to actually wear no make up and as for the photos we asked our concierge to snap some on a disposable camera we picked up in the airport, as I did not want to see them straight away to start editing and over analysing..they would just come out however they would come out, that was the moment and that´s how we wanted to remember it.

It might not be for everyone to get married this way, but we just wanted to do us, we´re not very traditional and to me marriage is such a personal thing that we just wanted it to be the two of us.

I want to thank everyone at the The Cape Hotel for making this once in a lifetime experience so amazing, I´m sure we will go back at some point.
