Sketching on an Iceberg

Sketching on an Iceberg

Since we had a change of plans due to weather and the volcano eruption the hotel we had booked was a bit far away and I had to drive the Ísak Land Rover (that I had never driven before) for about 3 hours during the night through tiny bridges, off roads and so on..talk about using your concentration on a new level..with the crew sleeping in the back although Sandra kept me up with horror stories during my drive...We woke up early on day 2 ready to head out the the glacier park of the world... or Jökulsárlón, a large glacial lake in southeast Iceland, on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park, considered as one of the natural wonders of Iceland. Think A view to a Kill...literally and the Bond movie..I wanted to do some sketching on a iceberg and collect samples for a scent I was working on Soft Tension...the sun came up and off we went

Sun is out and we look happy (jacket KTZ)

The Icebergs are spectacular

Sketching on one of them was inspirational (and cold)

From Icebergs to green in less than two hours....believe it or not this is how quickly the scenery can change in Iceland...our next stop was Svartifoss or Black Fall (actually I like this name for a fragrance..note to self) another place I had not seen since I was a kid travelling with my grandparents, it´s  is a waterfall in Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland, surrounded by dark lava columns, which gave rise to its name. It felt like another world lying in the grass, hiking up to the waterfall...I wanted to try the water that´s super super fresh, the only downside was the amount of selfie sticks around us...

Crossing the bridge

Amazing Black Fall just appears out of nowhere

It looks so "tiny" (jeans and shirt Nicolas Andreas Taralis)

Relaxing away

The last location of the day was a field off moss...a subject I´ve been obsessed with for a long time, I wanted to incorporate moss into Soft Tension, which I did in the end and love love the way it smells... after this we were all pretty beaten up and drove to Vík where we planned to shoot on day 3....we told Ási the stylist he would be staying in a shead with no windows as a joke, after a long day like this all you want is a hot shower and maybe a glass of proseco...he did not find it funny...
