The White Desert

Winter is my favorite time of year and it´s been a while since I spent one in Iceland so I wanted to make sure I got as much out of it as I could. I had this image of a white desert in my mind, a place covered with snow and fog at the same time. There are also so many places particularly in the the West that I have not yet seen so I started mapping out a new journey with my team that would turn out to be one of the craziest and most memorable ones, we titled it The White Desert and obviously the fragrance of the journey was Soft Tension (the scent of fog). So with a jeep full of girls: Sandra my social manager, Ingunn, Sigga and Anna Maggý who had just joined the team we drove to Stykkishólmur on a beautiful winter day. This time of year the hotels are all closed but the hotel manager at Hótel Stykkishólmur was kind enough to lend us the whole hotel for ourselves. Upon arrival the weather just kept getting worse and worse so we set camp inside made dinner and obviously I made the the girls watch The Shining....I mean alone in a hotel in the middle of nowhere in a snowstorm....that was fun scaring them to death...
