Magical West

The Westjords of Iceland are always amazing–every season, hot or cold, sunny or snowing, the West is always amazing. This time I was invited to Parteksfjörður, a town was named after Saint Patrick who was the spiritual guide of the original settler in the area. Usually even if the town itself is set in a beautiful spot, I would just drive though. This time however I decided to give myself some time to actually explore the town itself and turns out it´s a great base for exploring the area and it has a lot to offer as a place to explore as well. It´s a very shot distance from some amazing sightseeing spots such as Rauðisandur (Red Sands) and Látrabjarg, so it´s perfect for day trips while keeping the base at Partó (as the locals call it). We stayed at Fosshótel, apart from being in a really great location, within walking distance of a local spots such as the swimming pool and charming cafés, they were so nice and accommodating!! The Fosshótel staff was so friendly and I never felt more welcomed, and don’t even get me started on the food, super nice local ingredients such as fresh seafood….loved it!
